Teaching
Your singing (and speaking) voice is part of who you are; learning how to use your voice more effectively develops your breathing, presentation skills, self-confidence, posture and gives you limitless capacity for self-expression.

I have a wealth of singing teaching experience, coaching voices of all abilities and ages.
I have taught singing at Sherborne Girls since 2005, where I’ve coached students through ABRSM and Trinity College exams up to Diploma level in classical, musical theatre and rock and pop genres. My teaching draws on my own considerable professional experience as a soloist and ensemble member, and singing studies with a broad spectrum of prestigious teachers. These include Early Music specialists such as Kathleen Dineen, Emma Kirkby, Evelyn Tubb and Andreas Scholl and – at the other end of the scale – renowned vocal coaches to major label artists and musical theatre stars, such as Christopher Johnson and Anne-Marie Speed. Based on this experience, and my Estill and Alexander technique training, my approach to singing teaching encompasses a thorough knowledge of the physiology associated with singing and how to adapt and develop a singing technique appropriate for a variety of singing styles.
“There is no such thing as a non-singer. I believe strongly that everyone can find their voice through the right coaching and vocal exercises.”
— Katharine Hawnt
